Dear friends,

It is with pleasure that I wish to inform you on behalf of Coordination Committee that RIPESS-Europe, following the founding Congress that was held in Barcelona in September 2011, is now planning to hold the second Congress of the European network for the promotion of social and solidarity economy (RIPESS Europe-Solidarity Economy Europe) in Lille on the 5th and 6th of July.

This event will be a gathering of people from all over Europe. Representatives from organizations of the European social and solidarity economy as well as political representatives from various countries will discuss key issues such as public policies to support the SSE and the future of the SSE in Europe in plenary sessions. Workshops will address topics such as responsible consumption, popular education based on the Paulo Freire model, the exchange of good practice in SSE, the state of the art of solidarity economy, employment and solidarity economy and also the perimeter of the identity of SSE (see program below).

We would be very happy to see you at the headquarters of the Maison d’Éducation Permanente, 1, Place Georges Lyon and invite you to participate in what will undoubtedly be the most important European solidarity economy event in 2013. The success of this event depends on your participation, your support and the support received from institutions and the sponsors, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks.

Note that the statutory General Assembly will be immediately following the Congress on Saturday, July 6, from 2pm to 5:30pm.
