On Thursday 13 February, the conference “Transforming the economy from the local” will take place, organised by Economists without Borders. The aim of the event is to reflect on how to transform the economy from the local level in order to achieve a sustainable economic and social development model that puts people and the planet at the centre. The conference also aims to be a space for the exchange of experiences between actors from different spaces and places.
To do so, we will begin by reflecting on the Fundamental Economy, the economy that is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of daily life. We will then move on to see how local economies can be transformed from top to bottom, from the institutions with the example of the Barcelona Metropolitan Strategic Plan and we will end with an example of transformation from the bottom to the top, the housing associations in Wales. After the tables we will continue with the question… and in Madrid how do we transform the Economy from the local? Sign up to reflect and share your experience and vision.
