“We will build together the next edition of the World Social Forum (Virtual) in the week of January 25, 2021”.

To the international social movements and organizations, Global Networks and Facilitating Groups of Thematic, Regional and National Forums that participated and are participating in the broad listening and dialogue process carried out since June 2020 in conjunction with the International Council of the World Social Forum.

Launched the initial call for dissemination of the next WSF (Virtual) –aqui  – which will take place in the week of January 25, 2021, this Letter of Invitation has as its main objective to start the joint construction of this challenging event, in the middle of a pandemic and with a little more than three months. This virtual edition of the WSF may also have local participation, taking into account the sanitary conditions of each territory.

For this, two broad meetings are already scheduled:

On the 24th, we met, for the second time, with organizations from Facilitating Groups of Thematic, Regional and National Forums, ready to be part of this constructive process.

The next day, October 25, we will hold a new broad meeting of international social movements and organizations, and global networks, with the aim of debating proposals for the joint construction of this Virtual WSF.

The International Council of the World Social Forum will meet again on November 7-8.

We have the strong participation of everyone.

Readings and discussion of themes from Tracksuits, Traumas and Class Traitors by D.P. Hunter, hosted by Solidarity Economy Association

Dialogue

Practices of solidarity economy and transformative justice are woven into the social fabric of communities at the sharp end of the neoliberal system – often invisible to, and ignored by, people outside those communities. D.P. Hunter has written about his own experiences at the bottom end of the British class system in his two books, ‘Chav Solidarity’ and ‘Tracksuits, Traumas and Class Traitors’, and examples of solidarity and collective survival practices are interwoven throughout this work. What would supporting and learning from these practices and communities look like?  To register : https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZIlc-GqqzIqHNNrykWSbZh_8yxtdfG2K7ol
